Looking back

I've always been fond of doing this (and i don't mean snapping photos of him secretly.... Or do i?)
Short recap on the past few months of my first taste at Uni and Hall life.

First time we cooked together in hall and i'm still proud of it till this day.
 4 cheese pasta.
Would you just look at that glorious egg and runny yolk... It tasted equally glorious. It always does when it comes out of your own hands!

Hall folks.

Funny thing is, i'll be returning back to hall next sem but i still felt a tinge of sadness while i was packing my things. The shifting out process felt as though i was wiping away the memories that were held in that particular room that my roomie and i occupied for about a year.

Celebrating our birthday together...

Taking up my first broadcast mod - ISP CS2025. This was taken during the first lesson. Couldn't wait to get down to business. I wouldn't deny that it took up a LOT of my time, but it was so fulfilling and enriching i wouldn't have it any other way.

And many more moments that i probably didn't capture. And can't remember.
It's been a good ride though yay

For now, it's summer break!
No fascinating places to visit this break because of his intern + reservist, he's packed.
But nonetheless still managed to fit 2 short trips to familiar places
Stoked for the summer!

DONE

Been on dayre the past few months due to its convenience, i can blog on the go -- like a tweet or an ig photo. Quick and easy.

But I found myself drifting back to this space.

Since I'm finally done and dusted with this sem and the official end of Y1, i have more time on my hands to spare.

The past week was a hectic one. Hectic in itself would also be an understatement -__-
mentally challenging, emotionally draining such words alike could possibly begin to describe the torment and mad rush of the past few weeks.

I was overwhelmed with submissions, midterms, finals, presentations and evaluations....

OK enough sob story cos the main point is that i am done!!!! For a while :)

-----

Since everyone's been seeing narcissistic shots of myself on my ig, here are some delights i had the other time we visited iLight @ MBS

Ok Bao Makers. Legendary. We decided on the chilli crab and salted egg chicken combo because we're just Singaporeans like that.  Jk. But really, I just wanted to see how could pull it off! A spin off from your ordinary KBP (which i love)...
And i love this even more!! The bun was so soft and slightly crispy on the edges. Don't even get me started on the filling......... *slurps*

Can't even fathom. This other dish is called chicken skin with salted egg yolk dip (from The Salted Egg)
Albeit a tad salty, it goes so well with the dip!

And of course, who can forget about a good ol' pint to complement the entire meal.

I loved the vibe so much, the bustling crowd, the pretty skyline, alfresco x hipster x indie seats for dining and a lovely date :')

It was a good break before i embarked on hell week lol
I wish wish wish we had more of such ad hoc events

Mid exams procrastination

Hi guys i know i don't even update this space regularly AT ALL so ya doubt anyone still checks back but i intend to keep this up

Anyway, not saying that he doesn't make time for me at all (because he really does even though he's so busy), but we finally found some time amidst our busyness out of NTU.

This is me feeling dubious about his ootd taking skills but they all turned out fine. I must say, he's a natural in everything hehe

- Laneway Market -

He rarely takes photos but he joined in when i was busy snapping away

Super satisfying brunch, one of the best truffle fries i've had. And that's a bold statement to make coming from me as i've tried MANY truffle fries and my favourite thus far are those from sprmrkt. These were good mainly because it was still crispy despite having been drizzled truffle oil. This is exactly what many truffle fries fail to achieve, most of them end up being soggy. With that said, maybe it was just the truffle mayo (+$2) that made it even better.

It's safe to say we enjoyed our meal thoroughly, part of our enjoyment was also attributed to the ambience of the mini cafe.

Besides its inaccessibility if you don't stay in the area, it's worth giving it a try :)

- Brother Bird -

After an unfortunate incident whereby he kinda dented my car upon turning into the carpark, we headed to get some ice cream to get the shock out of our system. Yes, the impact from the hit got both of us all kinds of frazzled.

This is a BIG YES from me.
Something new apart from the usual waffles with ice cream, this is a mixed flavour (matcha and speculoos) softserve topped over a nice warm mochi donut. Yes, warm. Yes, mochi
I love it when it's the right texture and temperature, the donut isn't any ordinary donut either. The whole thing just complement each other spectacularly. Salivating at the thought of having a spoonful of that mochi donut in my mouth now.

not the best photo of us but i like how happy i look here :)

This concludes my procrastination from studying for my finals. The next post will probably be after we're back from our Taiwan trip! This has got to be one of the best and most memorable years of my life. Eventful and eventually fulfilling. And i travelled like 5 times??? So happy, can't wait for the next 2 weeks to pass.

New phase

Sudden feels to update this space

Maybe it's cos i'm currently bored in hall and i have a new laptop which i'm trying to fully ultilize hehe

(yeah bought a new laptop cos i thought my pro died on me but it revived halfway and i was just coming up with new and "valid" excuses to get a new lighter laptop that i can easily carry around now that i'm in uni)

Yeah uni.

What a short but big word. Surreal that i finally made it here to this part of my life.
When in the past, this was all a dream and an aspiration and of course, fear.

But the past month has whizzed past so quickly i can barely grasp my hands around this.

Ever since uni camps started i felt my life beginning to change and i knew this was gonna be a new chapter once again and it's going to be a vast and whole new world out there.

Yknow, uni being completely different from all the theoretical and academic studying i've done my whole life. Plus eventually making the final decision to choose this course really made me feel like i have a lot to look forward to for the next few years.

And i was right. So much has happened in such a short span. Experienced so much and felt so much already. Most days i wake up happy. Simple, pure bliss. Maybe it's cos of the people i've met and the people i'm with, or maybe it's just the knowledge that i'm in a good place. Good vibes. Other days i dread leaving his bed, leaving for class, getting up, doing assignments and being thrown into a competitive sphere.

It's a whole ball of emotions; but i'm ready for this ride.

California dreaming

My first attempt at a vlog;

Initially intended to do a normal blog post but after going through all my photos I realized there were just too many and I didn't feel like going through the hassle of uploading all the pics :(

Then when I started editing the measly amount of footages I took..... I realised video editing took a very long time as well?!? But I was alr halfway through so I just gave it a shot! Haha clearly an amateur so pardon me if the vlog isn't good

Obviously I didn't manage to video everything during my trip (only when I remembered to then I whipped out my cam hahahaaa) that's why the vid is so short + an inaccurate representation of my trip but there're some highlights in there so I guess it's not thaaaat bad? You would have better luck on that if you've seen my snapchat

Wish I could post everything —photos and videos alike— for keepsake purposes on my visual diary, but I'm gonna let my laziness get the better of me this time

I'll try to do a better job for my upcoming trip to HK! (which I'm super excited for!!) !!!!! But before I head to the land of dimsum I have to go through FOC next week........... Sigh crossing fingers it'll be fun. The last time I went through an overnight camp, I broke out in rashes cos the games were too dirty/gross for my sensitive skin boooo

Ok enough said, click "vimeo" and watch it in HD! (Cos the SD version sucks after uploading)

BKK bangin'

Impromptu last min trip to my fav fav fav land of smiles
Visiting bkk is like a yearly routine for me and i kinda missed it last year so i was pretty sad about that, but luckily i got to go back during this break! Didn't visit many cafes as i normally would this time cos i really missed authentic thai food so i was constantly craving local delicacies…

(And i guess my life's too meh for me to blog about my daily sheningans so only travelling's interesting to me hehe so READ TILL THE END!!!)

p/s ~Didn't edit the photos from this trip cos I'm lazy~

DAY 1:

Arrived pretty early (yay) so we pretty much had the entire day ahead so there was no time to waste!!

I was very satisfied with the hotel!!!! Hehehe! Anyway, we headed out pretty quickly and the first thing we saw round the corner of our hotel were the fresh-juice carts commonly seen by the road-side. The orange juice is my fav! Impossible not to grab a drink in the insane heat…

After exploring the vicinity, we headed to siam for dinner!!

omg can't express how much i like somtam, its a must-eat every time i visit bkk (i have many must-eats haha) but take a look at the queue! So u can trust me on this, it's cheap and good! I didn't even take a pic of our food cos i was too eager to dig in lol.

Continued shopping at siam until it was time for the massage we booked at bodytune!!!!

This is the outside (reception??) area? Couldn't take the inside cos it was pitch black. But to complete the whole do, they had like soft blinking *stars* on the ceiling! Real therapeutic decor.

DAY 2:

Thank god the trip overlapped with the weekend so i got to visit chatuchak + Union mall

Heading head first to the coconut ice cream! You won't even believe the weather there ok. If you think sg is hot, bkk doesn't even compare. It's literally scorching and humid and it feels like 40 deg and you just can't stop sweating and squinting with the harsh sunlight ew. It's still the best to go in nov/dec!

omgggggg slurps another must-eat! The chicken is so tender……………….

Headed to Union mall to shop after chatuchak!!!!

Best and famous thai milk tea omg!! I walked back twice for this

Fav MK gold for dinner!

DAY 3:

Breakfast is important on a holiday hahahaa i took too many servings and everyday was overly-heavy-breakfast day

Headache after lugging half a day's worth of shopping @ platinum and then proceeding to other places… HEAVY

My fav condensed milk "prata" thingy hahaaa

Dinner later on was at Soi 38 Thong Lo, ate at the street stalls and had the most delightful local dessert by the roadside n__n

As planned, i met up with friends intending to go to Slim & Fix only to find out it closed down (??) so we settled for onyx which was the first club we saw when we entered the area! Looks pretty good eh???

DAY 4:

Ok this was the day i ate the most….. I'm not even kidding. But you'll scroll down and find out the reasons why i couldn't decline *slurps*

Ugh fav pratunam wonton mee and pork leg……… Small portion but ordered multiple times! And this was like an hour after breakfast at the hotel?!

Something's brewing...

Behold the bubble tea i was obsessed with this trip hahaha adding pearls only cost 5 baht so i gave it a shot and pls look at the amount of pearls they gave me…...

Not to be missed platinum's crepe, cheap and good!

Oh this was bloody expensive like $5 sgd for one?! It's the huge strawberry wrapped in a layer of matcha and mocha, tried it in korea and wanted to have it again hee

No time for editing ^

And before you know it, dinner time!!! Super looking forward to this cos i didn't get to eat this in a very long time… Place is called yum saap and seriously this signature mama noodle salad is the best thing in my life (don't recommend this place to ppl who can't take spicy, i mean it)

Can't believe i still had room for dessert (pun unintended hehe, after you fans will know!)

Massage at a random place before crashing for the night, never fails to put me to sleep. I still recommend bodytune though!!!

DAY 5:

Top 3 fav items from the buffet, i was ravished hence multiple portions of the same food item lol

Explored the area before our evening flight :(((((

I tried to cut down the amount of photos uploaded cos i didn't want it to be visual vomit so i hope this isn't too much!

I'm always super devastated to leave ANY foreign country because each experience is just so different and new, and I'm sure many will agree with me :( But it's bkk and i always visit it AT LEAST annually so i know there's not much to be upset about cos i'll be back soon! AND… In just a few weeks time, i'll be California bound and i'm positive it'll be a life-changer! *.⋆( ˘̴͈́ ॢ꒵ॢ ˘̴͈̀ )⋆.*

Super duper excited so stay tuned!!!
